1. What is drilling with odex?
The air-operated down-the-hole hammer is adapted as ODEX. It reams
the bottom of the casing with a swing-out eccentric bit. Cuttings
emerge via the casing annulus and drive sub, passing through a
swivel and onto the ground or a sample collector. Quick removal of
the cuttings.
2. What PSI is required for air tools?
Ranging from 70 to 90 PSI
Most air tools require between 70 and 90 PSI. Any light-to-medium
duty air compressor can easily reach 90 PSI, but it's always a good
idea to have the compressor producing more flow than is necessary.
Expert Opinion: Never discount a PSI score. The instrument will not
operate correctly if there is not enough air volume.
